Organic Food Answers

I am doing research on this topic for one of my courses. I have to argue that it will not increase food supply but I am confuse because all of the literature that I have came across supports organic farming. Also, they are saying that organic farm produce either higher or about the same yield as other farming. What do you all think about that?

I've been looking into the health claims of organic foods, not using chemical pesticides and the health risks of genetically modified foods.

My two questions are: Has anyone ever died or gotten seriously ill from the pesticide residue in eating non-organic foods (not from farming accidents involving pesticides)? And has anyone died or gotten ill from genetically modified foods? Seeing as billions of people in the world eat conventional foods, it should be easy to find cases for these.

like I would consider myself an environmentalist. I love animals and hate to see the rain forest getting cut down. But as I see the world population growing and growing and growing, I feel we need to be able to feed ourselves with out making more way for farming and livestock.

I wish we could eat less meat, and replace our protein with BUGs!

But whats more realistic is we could use GE foods that could potentially lower the amount of land needed to grow our crops.

I mean I think supporting your local farmers and eating organic is great luxury you have and I am glad you have the choice.

But I don't understand why all of these green peace people are labeling efficient mass produced conventional foods and trying to end the advancements in genetically modified crops that could produce way higher yields which would feed the starving and also make farm land smaller allowing nature to reclaim unneeded farm land.
