Recently, I saw a movie documenting the food industry, both where our meat comes from, how animals and workers or treated and so on. Basically, it lifted the veil on all the "bad" in the industry. Instead, the movie encouraged the viewer towards more organic products.
Now, I am a full supporter of organic products. However, like the veil that covers the business of "processed unnatural foods," is there a veil that covers the organic food industry? Sure, some brands rave about how their milk has no growth hormones, or they contain no genetically engineered foods, or how they don't use pesticides, and so on, but if the main big food companies control such a large portion of the food industry...where are all these organic brands getting their products? Where do these organic yogurts get their milk? What conditions are THEIR cows and employees under? How "pure" are these organic foods that we pay top dollar for?
Please send me all the valid sources you know of, web sites, articles, movies, whatever. I'm just curious on the issue.
Also, no I am not Dar Williams. Never even heard of her. XD
